Workplace Wellness!

Benefits of Massage Therapy

in the workplace are expanding everyday!  77% of Top 100 companies for women offer massage.  In NJ ADP, Lionhart, EMG & Erickson Communities have made massage a part of their employee benefits programs, and you can too!

With any type of commitment a Wellness plan is no different.  It’s impact being measured over the long-term.  In today’s world of instant gratification and immediate mesurable results some employers have steered away from wellness programs all together. Not pursuing a massage therapy program in your company can be a costly mistake.

One major benefit would be to reduce the frequency of workman’s compensation and disability claims.  Think about this; is it better for a 35 year old female to be out of work for 2, 3 or even 4 weeks for carpal tunnel surgery or does it make more sense to provide weekly massage to help reduce or eliminate this repetitive strain injury?

Massage therapy works to increase flexibility and circulation, decrease blood pressure and relax major muscle groups.  massage breaks up adhesion’s in the muscle we call “knots”

A 15 to 20 minute weekly workplace massage will yield these benefits.

When you begin to promote wellness in the workplace employees  will not only see the message over and over again, “wellness”, but they will be experiencing wellness as it relates to massage.  The more we see and experience wellness the more “wellness” will relate to our daily lives and the more likely we are able to make better choice.

A Wellness Programs aim  to keep people healthy.  Taking those at risks and reducing or eliminating that risk.  The goal is to help you reduce the number of claims and absenteeism, increase focus on the job and boost employee morale.

How to start a Wellness Program: Choose a  Company that is well established, insured and has experience offering on-site massage therapy. Couple with other experts ie; yoga instructors, nutritonist, in the wellness field to design your very own unique program.

Implementing your Wellness Program. First, management needs to support the program. Next, set well established goals to measure impact of program and communicate with your company’s health-care provider and state for reduced rates and tax credits. Finally encouraging letters to participants to show support.

Protect your most valuable assest; your employees.
